Win, Win.
Congratulations to DLSU for winning the UAAP Season 70 Basketball Championship. Better luck next year for the UE Warriors. The funny thing was they were 14-0 (win-loss) in the eliminations and then went down to 0-2 during the finals. They didn't even win a single game! It's utterly ridiculous. Talk about bad timing. Waaaayy bad.
And, congratulations, too to Mr. Pacquiao for winning over Marco Antonio Barrera in their rematch. And thank you Ms. Kyla for singing Lupang Hinirang right.
It was a great day for the Philippine sports yesterday. Kept me busy.

Scalper's Delight Indeed
Turned out University of the East isn't unbeatable after all. It was a heartbreaking loss yesterday for the UE Warriors when De La Salle University ended their 14-0 winning streak. UE lost by 1 point. One.
The thing with DLSU is, they win when it matters most. I hope that they'd finish UE come Sunday because I'm losing patience everytime I had to look for damn tickets. Everytime I thought I was early, I thought wrong. I mean, I think people start to line up as early as 5am and by releasing time, the line is several kilometers long. I am not that patient. I start to look for scalpers who wouldn't try to sell me tickets 10x its price. During the ADMU-DLSU game last week, my boss had no choice but to pay P700 for an upper B ticket. At first the scalper priced it at P1,500. I almost dropped dead. I was so tempted to sell my ticket, too. But it's fun watching the games live, damn it. The scalper looked like a DLSU student. Maybe he thought Levi (my boss) was from the Ateneo because he was wearing his blue cap and he wasn't wearing anything green.
P1,500 for a P70 ticket. Fran-frickin-tastic.

Season's over for Ateneo
I didn't think I'm gonna blog about it. The Ateneo-La Salle rivalry proved to be very much alive last Sunday when 23,000+ fans trooped to Araneta Coliseum to witness the final battle between the two universities for a place in the UAAP Season 70 finals. A lot of people didn't get in because tickets were sold out even days before. I am not an Atenista, also not a Lasalista. So whichever team wins is really a non-issue. I have a lot of friends in Ateneo but I wanted DLSU to win more than ADMU. Not because of the school, but simply because they are the better team. They are good offensively and excellent defensively. It's funny because people were thinking I was rooting for Ateneo because it's just beside Miriam College. Since when did proximity become the basis for choosing what team to cheer for?
ALSO,

The Shakey's V-League is back!

This is why i wasn't there.
I saw Elliott Yamin at Glorietta which was the reason why I wasn't at Mae's birthday party. I think almost all of our college friends were there (Mae's party). I didn't quite have a hard time making up my mind where to go. C'mon. Seeing Yamin in person and hearing him sing with his phenomenal voice (for free) was kind of a once in a lifetime experience. And I just don't feel like going home drunk that night. I lost count of how many times I've done that. Plus, my aunt gets paranoid everytime I'm still not in our house past 10pm. She doesn't get angry. She just starts asking questions. As much as I would love to give her peace of mind by patiently answering where I am or what I'm doing or who I'm with, I hate being bugged.
To Mae, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I'll make it up to you guys next time. Pwamis. :)

Reunited with MC classmates
I think I have to post another entry coz I'm starting to get tired of seeing Erap's face dead on whenever I open this blogspot account. Talking about Erap, I personally think that whether his trial was fair or unfair, he's still guilty of plunder. That fact is brighter than sunshine. So some people should stop whining about it and move on with their "clean" lifestyles.
ANYWAY.
Got together with some of my ex-classmates last weekend. It has been so long since we saw each other. It's nice to meet up once in a while and try to catch up with one another. I couldn't pass it up cause Ton was there. And she was even the one who texted me that there would be a mini reunion. She asked me through text if I was already on my way, which was weird because I didn't know about it until when she texted. We only see her once in a million days.
Inah, Czaira, Gareth, Nica, Ciends, and Krystle were also present. It was fun. More pics on my Multiply site. It's on Photos (Album: September 15, 2007)

Guilty, beyond reasonable doubt.
Joseph Ejercito Estrada, more popularly known as Erap and former President of the Philippines was found guilty of plunder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. Had the Sandiganbayan acquitted him, I think I'm gonna be restless for at least a month. Yesterday, he said he is ready for prison, and he won't budge even if they put him in Muntinlupa (c'mon, even I am not buying that).
I hope this will serve as a lesson to all corrupt officials out there. Give this country a chance.
