After his recent achievements the clamor for this man has become hysterical. It doesn’t matter if he is not in any way attractive and has a funny accent (even when speaking in Filipino). People are crazy over him. More and more people insist that they are related to him. His face appears on TV every 5 seconds, you can sketch it from memory. The masses don’t give a damn about the recently concluded World Cup nor Wimbledon, because this time they only know of one sport and one man alone.
His impact and popularity definitely makes Jose Rizal pale in comparison. So --
Due to insistent public demand, a new national hero was proclaimed (effective as long as he’s winning).
